A symbol of resilience, community, and prosperity
Our HISTORY
After a string of devastating fires hit Glens Falls in 1902, the community had no choice but to rise from the ashes and rebuild. Their bold project was to construct a grand office that would serve as a lavish testament to the community’s ability to rise stronger. With large windows, a soaring glass atrium, and Vermont marble, the builders sourced materials locally because they believed in the future of our region.
Until 2015, the Beaux-Arts building on Glen Street remained a bank. Then, Glens Falls was one of five communities in New York State to receive a downtown revitalization grant to help grow more small businesses and bring fresh opportunities to the region.
The bank shuttered its doors, an empty storefront for over five years, until WorkSmart championed its renovation. In the construction, we preserved historical details, like the old bank vault and ornate capitals, while incorporating sustainability and comfort at every possible touchpoint. By 2021, Worksmart opened its doors as a workspace and coworking community.
